Ultra-short polarization beam splitter based on dual-core photonic crystal fiber with surface plasmon resonance effect

چکیده

An ultra-short polarization beam splitter (PBS) based on a dual-core photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with the surface plasmon resonance effect is proposed. The finite-element method used to investigate coupling characteristics between core mode and polariton mode. influences of PCF structure parameters length ratio are also investigated. normalized output powers x-polarization y-polarization calculated, optimized PBS achieves an 62.5 μm. splitting bandwidth 110 nm (1.51 1.61 μm) achieved when extinction (ER) less than −20 dB. minimum ER reaches −71 dB at wavelength 1.55 proposed has important application in high-speed optical communication systems.
